Beautify is our app, so weigh our take accordingly; every competitor fact below comes from that app’s own App Store listing or website, checked in October 2026. We have not run any app through a test, and we do not claim any app’s ratings are accurate, Beautify’s included. This page is for adults who want what Umax offers (a selfie and a set of ratings) but with more beauty guidance, a different focus, or an app with a more recent update.
What does Umax do?
Umax is a selfie-based attractiveness rating app for iPhone and Android, published by Improvement Tech LLC. Its listing describes three steps: “Take a selfie”, then “Get your analysis”, under the subtitle “Get your ratings”. It says, “We are the looksmax AI tool to help YOU looksmax,” and that it is “currently helping users improve their facial attractiveness.”
A few facts from the listing are worth knowing before you compare:
- Pricing model: “analysis results require subscription. Additional scans require additional purchase.” The in-app purchases include weekly and monthly premium plans, plus one-off items called “Supercharge” and “You as a 10/10”.
- Last update: version 1.4.3, released June 28, 2024. Its most recent release notes added group scanning.
- Age rating: 18+ on the App Store listing.
- Scale: the listing does not describe what the ratings are out of or which features they cover.
Does Umax work for girls?
Yes, Umax’s listing is not gendered, so anyone can use it. The difference is focus: Umax describes itself in looksmaxxing terms and its listing does not mention face shape, eye shape, skin type, makeup or hairstyle guidance. If you want a rating plus beauty advice you can act on, an app built around a glow-up may suit you better. For more context, see our guide to how to glow up.
What should you look for in a Umax alternative?
A good Umax alternative gives you something useful after the score. We compared apps on these criteria, using only what each app’s own listing says:
- What you get back: scores only, or scores plus features like face shape, skin type and routines.
- Who it is built for: looksmaxxing ratings, a general audience, or a beauty and makeup focus.
- Platforms: iPhone only, iPad, or Android too.
- Pricing model: weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, free basics, or one-off purchases.
- Update history: when the App Store listing was last updated.
How do the Umax alternatives compare?
Beautify, Glam Up and LooxUP are the alternatives whose listings mention face shape; only Beautify states scores out of 100.
| App | Best for | Platforms | Scores out of 100? | Face shape | Makeup help | Pricing model |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beautify | Scores plus beauty features and tutorials | iPhone | Yes | Yes | Yes | Weekly subscription; extra scans as one-off purchases |
| Glam Up | Color season and makeup routines | iPhone, iPad, Android | Not stated | Yes | Yes | Subscription |
| Maxxing | Score plus glow-up routine | iPhone, Android | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated | Weekly or yearly subscription plus one-off add-ons |

| Umax | Looksmaxxing ratings | iPhone, Android | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated | Weekly or monthly subscription; extra scans cost extra |
“Not stated” means the app’s own listing does not say. Several of these apps do give a rating, but their listings do not describe the scale.
1. Beautify - Glow Up
Beautify is built for a women’s glow-up rather than looksmaxxing, and it pairs scores with beauty features in a single scan. You take or upload a selfie and get eight scores out of 100 (Overall, Potential, Skin Quality, Facial Symmetry, Eyes, Nose, Lips and Cheekbones), then your face shape, eye shape and skin type, each with makeup tips, hairstyles or routines. A Glow Up Guide covers skincare, hair, fitness, sleep and nutrition, and a Tutorials tab has ten step-by-step makeup looks such as clean girl and soft glam. An AI beauty advisor answers makeup and skincare questions.
- Best for: a beauty-focused glow-up with scores, face shape and makeup help in one app.
- Platforms: iPhone only (iOS 13 or later), English only.
- Pricing model: free to download; results, tutorials and the advisor need Beautify Premium, a weekly subscription. See pricing.
- Limitation: one analysis scan per subscription week; extra scans need a one-off Superboost purchase.
2. Glam Up - Perfect Your Look
Glam Up describes itself as “your personal AI beauty consultant”. Its listing offers a “glow up guide to see your glow-up potential, and a guide to achieve it”, a “Color Analysis scan” to find your color season, facial analysis for “face shape, eye shape, skin tone”, celebrity lookalikes and “step-by-step makeup routines, and product recommendations”. It does not describe a numeric score.
- Best for: color season analysis and makeup routines.
- Platforms: iPhone, iPad and Android.
- Pricing model: subscription (“analysis require subscription”).
- Note: last updated October 2024 on the App Store.
3. Maxxing: LooksMaxxing Glow Up
Maxxing is the closest in spirit to Umax but is not gender-specific; it aims to “help you look your best and boost confidence with a personalized plan tailored to your face and goals.” Its listing names an “Attractiveness Score”, “Detailed Facial Analysis” covering “symmetry to skin health”, a “Custom Glow-Up Routine” and “Skincare & Grooming Guidance”. Its terms describe a “Current Beauty Score and a Potential GlowUp Score”.
- Best for: a looksmaxxing-style score with a routine, for any gender.
- Platforms: iPhone and Android.
- Pricing model: weekly or yearly subscription, plus one-off add-ons such as “Best haircuts for you”.
4. UCHAD: See Your Potential
UCHAD offers “Basic analysis & insights (Free)” and a premium “Feature-level breakdown: jawline, eyes, skin, hair, symmetry”. It also lists “Improvement potential based on facial structure”, an “AI Coach” and “Daily Progress Tracking”. Its website FAQ lists “masculinity” among the features it analyzes, which hints at its main audience.
- Best for: trying a basic analysis before paying, and tracking progress over time.
- Platforms: iPhone, iPad and Android.
- Pricing model: free basic analysis; premium subscription and one-off unlocks.
5. LooksMax Face Rating AI (LooxUP)
LooxUP’s subtitle is “Looks Rater, Symmetry Analyzer”. Its listing says it can “analyze … your face shape, facial features, proportions, skin tone, and more” and give “recommendations on skin care, hairstyle selection, clothing style and accessories”. Subscription perks include a “personalized attractiveness plan” and a “ranking of men in your area”.
- Best for: a rating with symmetry and face shape analysis.
- Platforms: iPhone only.
- Pricing model: weekly or monthly subscription.
6. Glow - AI Beauty Coach
Glow focuses on skin. Its listing says “Scan your face for AI analysis” and offers “Personalized product recommendations”, “Beauty routines and hacks” and a “24/7 AI beauty coach chat”. It does not describe a score.
- Best for: a skin glow-up with a chat-based coach.
- Platforms: iPhone and iPad.
- Pricing model: weekly, monthly or yearly subscription (“ANALYSIS REQUIRES SUBSCRIPTION”).
Which Umax alternative should you choose?
The right choice depends on what you want after the score:
- Scores plus face shape, skin type and makeup tutorials: Beautify.
- Color season and makeup routines, Android included: Glam Up.
- A looksmaxxing-style score for any gender: Maxxing.
- A free first look and progress tracking: UCHAD.
- Skin-first coaching by chat: Glow.
Bottom line
Umax gives selfie ratings framed around looksmaxxing, and its listing was last updated in June 2024. If you want a rating plus beauty guidance, Beautify and Glam Up are the closest alternatives for women; Maxxing and UCHAD are closer to Umax’s format. Whichever you pick, treat scores as one input among many, not a measure of your worth.
