What is my face shape?
To find your face shape, compare four measurements: forehead width, cheekbone width, jaw width and face length. Longer than wide with the widest point at the cheekbones is oval; about as wide as long with soft curves is round; equal widths with an angular jaw is square; widest at the forehead tapering to the chin is heart. Beautify can tell you yours from a selfie.

How do you measure your face shape?
Pull your hair back and use a soft tape measure or a straight-on photo. Measure across your forehead at its widest, across your cheekbones from the outer corner of each eye, along your jaw from the ear to the chin and back, and from your hairline to the tip of your chin. Then compare: which width is biggest, and is your face clearly longer than it is wide?
Can an app detect your face shape?
Yes. Beautify’s face shape analysis works from a selfie and names your face shape as oval, round, square, heart or oblong, so you do not need a tape measure. It shows your eye shape and skin type in the same scan and links you to the haircuts and makeup that suit your shape.
Questions
Questions people ask
How do I find out my face shape?
Pull your hair back, look straight at a mirror or camera and compare four measurements: forehead width, cheekbone width, jaw width and face length from hairline to chin. Which is widest, and how length compares to width, tells you the shape. Beautify does this from a selfie and names your face shape.
What are the main face shapes?
The most common categories are oval, round, square, heart, oblong (also called rectangle) and diamond. Some guides add triangle. Beautify’s face shape analysis returns oval, round, square, heart or oblong.
Can your face shape change?
Your bone structure does not change in adulthood, but weight changes, aging and hairstyle can change how your face shape reads. A fringe or a different part can also make one shape look closer to another.
Is there an app that tells you your face shape?
Yes. Beautify for iPhone analyzes a selfie and tells you your face shape along with your eye shape, skin type and beauty scores, then links you to the hairstyles and makeup that suit it.
Why does my face shape matter?
It is a shortcut for choosing haircuts, bangs, contour and blush placement, brow shape and glasses. Most advice works by balancing width and length, so knowing which you have more of tells you what to add.
